This three-day safari offers a perfect blend of wildlife exploration and authentic cultural encounters. Begin in Tarangire National Park, known for its massive elephant herds and ancient baobab trees. Continue to the awe-inspiring Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site teeming with lions, rhinos, and a variety of other wildlife in one of Africa’s most stunning natural arenas.

On the final day, travel to the remote shores of Lake Eyasi, where you’ll meet the Hadzabe—one of the last hunter-gatherer tribes in Africa—and the Datoga, skilled blacksmiths with a rich cultural heritage. Participate in traditional hunting activities, learn about ancient customs, and gain insight into a way of life that has remained unchanged for centuries.

Full Itinerary

Arusha – Tarangire National Park

Pick up in the hotel early in the morning after breakfast and drive to Tarangire National Park for full day Safari. Tarangire is known for abundance of elephants ever seen in the northern Tanzania, Spectacular Baobab trees, Tarangire river, predators, birds over 450 species and other wild animals. Dinner and Overnight at Karatu.

Karatu

Ngorongoro After breakfast in Karatu depart to Ngorongoro Conservation Area for a day game viewing in Ngorongoro Crater. From the gate, drive to the Crater Rim and spend few minutes for awesome view of the Crater from the crater view point, descend into the crater floor for a day game drive.

Ngorongoro Crater is one the largest intact caldera in the world and one of the most spectacular sights in the whole of Africa. All the BIG FIVE Rhino, Lion, Leopard, Buffalo and Elephant live in this wonderful caldera, others are Zebra, Hippo, Wildebeest, Hyena with exceptional of giraffe. Birds include flamingos on the Soda lake, Geese, Storks, Vultures and more other bird families.

Picnic lunch will be served in the Crater picnic site at Ngoitokok swamp, a Hippo pool. After lunch proceeds with afternoon game viewing. Dinner and Overnight at Lake Eyasi.

Lake Eyasi – Arusha

After early morning breakfast then depart for local hunting with Hadzabe tribe where you will experience the culture on hunting, foraging and interacting with one of Africa’s last remaining hunter – gatherer tribe. The activities with Hadzabe include: learning hunting demonstrations, techniques and survival skills. Hunting excursion which vary between 5 – 8 kilometers a day, Food preparations and cultural norms, enjoying the wild scenic view of Yaeda valley where they resides.

The tour will continue to visit the Datoga tribe, they are highland Nilotic agro – pastoralists dependent on their livestock and skilled blacksmiths – often trading their arrowheads with the Hadza in exchange for skins and honey. Activities here includes visiting Datoga homes, meet the families, listen to stories about their way of life, visiting black smith and experience ancient black smith skills, you will also visit traditional healers and discover traditional herbs that cure various diseases

Finalize the tour by visiting the seasonal lake eyasi. Lake Eyasi offers tall palm trees along its shores and a variety of avi-fauna, such as Fischer’s lovebird, flamingo, pelican, spurfowl, stork, barbet, weaver and many others. Your guide enlightens you about the plant, birds and animal species that you encounter along the way, as well as tracking techniques, medicinal uses of plants, carcass identification, droppings and much more. In the late evening departing to Arusha for overnight.
